The December 2024 update for the Google Pixel Watch brings several new features, although there won’t be an OTA update for all three generations this month. In November, Google announced that the next update for the Pixel Watch won’t arrive until March 2025.

One of the key additions is the Live View feature, which lets you view live footage from a Nest Cam or Doorbell on the Pixel Watch 2. You can also make calls directly from your wrist, a new capability for this version.

For Pixel Watch 3 owners in Germany and Portugal, a new feature called “Loss of Pulse Detection” is being introduced. This feature detects if your heart stops due to a medical emergency like cardiac arrest, breathing problems, or overdose, and automatically contacts emergency services.

This feature was previously available in several countries, including Austria, Belgium, and the UK, and now it expands to Germany and Portugal.

Fall Detection is another new feature, now available in Germany for Pixel Watch 2 and 3. This feature can detect if you’ve fallen and can alert emergency services.

Additionally, Google is expanding the Cardio Load and Target Load features, which show your fitness stats like heart rate and workout load.

These features will now be available on the Pixel Watch, Pixel Watch 2, and Fitbit trackers. On the first and second-generation Pixel Watches, you can view this data directly on your wrist through a complication or the Fitbit Today app.
