Google will help US voters find their voting locations, here’s how!

As the US general election approaches, Google is making it easier for voters to find important information about where and how to vote. Here’s how you can use Google Search and Maps to get the details you need:

Know Where to Vote:

Google Search and Maps will show official information about in-person voting and ballot drop-off locations. To find where to vote, simply search for terms like “where to vote” or “ballot dropboxes.” You’ll be prompted to enter your registered address, and then you can see nearby voting locations based on what you need.

On Google Maps, you can look up a specific voting place to get details about its hours and the types of voting available there. This information is updated as local and state election officials change voting locations.

Google is working with the Voting Information Project, which is a partnership between Democracy Works (a nonpartisan group) and local election officials, to provide this official information. You’ll also find links to your state or local election office website for more details.

Learn About Voting in Your State:

If you want to know about voting early or what you need to bring to the polls, you can easily find that information on Google Search. Just type in questions like “how to vote,” and you’ll get accurate details from state election offices, thanks to Democracy Works.

This feature will also show you important voting deadlines in your state and help you check the status of your ballot, so you’re well-prepared for Election Day.

Get Real-Time Election Day Results:

On Election Day, which is November 5 this year, Google will work with The Associated Press (AP) to provide live updates on election results. You can go to Google Search for real-time updates as votes are counted.

The information will refresh regularly as the AP gets updates from election officials about the results of contests and ballot measures.
